The Modern Highline 2.0 in 6'9" is built for surfers up to 90kg who want the benefits of a high volume board without sacrificing the feel and responsiveness of a proper shortboard outline. Whether you're transitioning from a softboard, getting back into surfing after a break, or simply want a board that works in a wider range of conditions — the 6'9" Highline 2.0 delivers where it counts.

This is the second generation of Modern's most popular progression shape, and the upgrades are all in the right places. The original plan shape and rocker that made the Highline such a success have been left untouched, while the bottom contour has been significantly reworked. The update features a dramatically tweaked bottom contour that has a small amount of Vee upfront, then a noticeable double concave with a lot of Vee between the fins. The result is a board that carries speed effortlessly through flat sections and responds to turning input far more readily than the volume might suggest.

At 6'9" x 22 15/16" x 3 1/16" and 56 litres, this is a genuinely confidence-inspiring amount of foam — early wave entry, easy paddling and a stable platform underfoot — but shaped and glassed like a shortboard so the skills you develop on it actually transfer. Essentially, Modern built upon the original design to hasten the first steps in surfing so people develop their skills even quicker and maximise the enjoyment they get from riding waves sooner.

Traditional PU/polyester construction — CNC milled and hand laminated with Hexcel fibreglass, Silmar resin and Bennett foam — gives the board a lively, reliable feel that holds up session after session. FCSII Tri Performer fins are included, so you're ready to go from the moment it arrives.
